Online Safety

Student safety is our top priority at Dr. Robin’s School. As parents ourselves, we understand the importance of creating a safe online environment for children. We have multiple precautions in place to help keep your kids safe during our live classes and within the overall program.

How We Work to Keep Kids Safe:

We take several measures to ensure a positive and secure learning experience:

  • Curriculum Safety: While using the core curriculum, kids stay on our website. This eliminates the risk of children encountering questionable videos or content outside of our platform.
  • Zoom Safety Standards: We follow the current best practices for live online classes with children using Zoom:
    • Registration Required: Each participant must register for the class through the parent dashboard. This allows us to control access and verify student identities.
    • Waiting Room: Each participant will wait in the Zoom waiting room until they are brought into the class by the moderator. This allows us to verify attendance and ensure only registered students participate.
    • Camera On: Upon entering the Zoom room, each participant must turn on their camera so that their identity as a child can be visually verified.
    • First Name Only: Each student must use a first name only (or multiple first names in the case of siblings). This helps protect their privacy.
  • Parental Guidance: We encourage parents to review internet safety practices with their children. This includes emphasizing the importance of never divulging their full name, exact location, birthday, or other personal details online.
  • Reporting Mechanisms: We provide clear reporting mechanisms for students and parents to report any concerns or inappropriate behavior they may witness during a live class. All reports are taken seriously and investigated promptly.
  • Parent Dashboard Security: Sensitive materials, such as the Curated Video Library and the Human Reproduction Unit, are exclusively accessible through the parent dashboard. This ensures that parents have control over when and how their children engage with this content. These materials are not accessible through the student dashboard.

By implementing these safety measures, we strive to create a positive, engaging, and secure learning environment for all students participating in our live classes and within the broader Dr. Robin’s School program.
